TCM believes the processes of the human body are interrelated and connected to the surrounding environment. And so, it treats the underlying root of health issues rather than the symptoms on the surface--all while strengthening the body’s internal defenses and enhancing its ability to sustain optimal health.
We know it sounds wild, but it’s true. Acupuncturists are trained to read tongues to gather important health information, like if a client’s tired, has insomnia or where they’re at in their menstrual cycle. Tongue diagnosis isn’t mandatory, it just provides extra information based on certain health complaints. Open up and say ahhhh!

Herbs are natural products (mostly plant parts) with therapeutic properties. Herbs have treated body + mind for at least 5,000 thousand years! They are part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) system, which includes acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, and much more. The various modalities of TCM are intended to be used together to create the quickest and longest lasting results.
Herbs have a cumulative effect. So it can take time to feel results--how much time depends on how long you’ve felt the way you do and the severity of your symptoms. With pharmaceuticals, the effects are usually more immediate but over time your tolerance will build.
Herbs tend to be the exact opposite--the effects are actually felt over time. This is why consistency with taking your herbs is so key.
Since herbs are a whole food--and can’t be magically condensed into a super pill like in the pharmaceutical world--the quantity you take is usually higher. When deciding whether to take a smaller or larger dose, consider these factors: the severity of your symptoms, your body weight and your level of sensitivity. If you’re looking to transform your overall health, a larger, more frequent dose could be a good idea for you. If you’re looking to maintain your health, you may not need as much of a dose.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: In general, most herbs have not been tested on women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, so we feel it’s best to stay safe and avoid them.

Acupuncture is the gentle insertion of hair-thin needles at key points on the body.
These needles interact with the fascial network (our internal messenger system) to alter brain chemistry and stimulate internal responses, such as regulating hormones like cortisol, releasing pain-relieving endorphins, increasing circulation, reducing inflammation and more. These biochemical changes stimulate the body's natural healing abilities.
Our treatments are designed with your comfort and relaxation in mind. When the needles are put in, it’s common to feel nothing at all. Sometimes, there’s a brief dull ache or warm sensation. Most people report how relaxed they are during the treatment, often falling asleep.

Relatively few complications from using acupuncture have been reported. Complications can result from use of nonsterile needles and improper delivery of treatments. International health authorities (like the Malaysia MDA and U.S. FDA) regulate acupuncture needles as medical devices... requires that needles be strictly sterile, nontoxic, and labeled for single use by qualified registered practitioners only. All of our practitioners hold a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Medicine and are officially registered with the Malaysia Ministry of Health (MOH)... participate in a rigorous, proprietary training program designed and delivered by XIA FENGLING ENTERPRISE.
Yes! In fact, we encourage it during pregnancy because it can help with nausea, morning sickness, lower back pain, anxiety, insomnia and pre-baby jitters. Acupuncture is also great after pregnancy for exhaustion, balancing hormone levels, depression and anxiety.
It’s best to defer to your Healer’s treatment plan, but some general rules of thumb: coming more frequently in the beginning of addressing a health concern allows your body to build up acupuncture’s effects and prevent the condition from returning or getting worse between sessions. Oftentimes, starting with at least one session per week is most effective while getting symptoms under control, then frequency can be backed off once you find relief. Maintenance treatments are usually recommended at once per month.
It is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise for a few hours after your session, as it may undo the benefits of acupuncture. Gentle exercise, such as yoga or walking, is recommended at any point after your session. Research shows 3 weeks to create a habit - but the clock doesn’t restart if you miss a day, just pick back up where you left off!
