Beyond Symptom Relief: Regulating "Shen" and Replenishing "Yuan"
While conventional acupuncture often falls into the trap of localized, symptom-based treatment (e.g., treating the head for a headache, or the foot for foot pain), Tongyuan Acupuncture stands apart due to its profound "Shen-Yuan" (Spirit-Source) doctrine.
This theory posits that "Yuan" (Original Qi) is the fundamental driving force of human life and the wellspring of all self-healing abilities, while "Shen" (the Spirit, brain, and central nervous system) acts as the ultimate command center. Illness typically arises when the "Shen" loses its precise control over the body, or when the "Yuan" is excessively depleted. Therefore, the highest level of acupuncture does not merely aim at pain relief, but at regulating the "Shen" and replenishing the "Yuan."
At Fengling TCM, physicians meticulously assess the patient's overall Qi and mental state before administering treatment. Through highly deliberate acupoint combinations and needle manipulation techniques, they awaken the body's internal potential, calm the disordered nervous system, and replenish depleted internal organs.
